What is PLA yarn？

PLA yarn is a new generation of green, environmental-friendly and reproducible yarn with great potentials. We developed PLA yarn with new technology(not fromPLA fiber). Now we produce PLA yarn(mainly DTY&FDY) which can be used for textile.

Where is it from?

Poly Lactic Acid yarn(PLA) is derived from renewable crops(corn or sugarcane) through fermentation and polymerization processes. The nonrenewable energy use and greenhouse gas emission values for the production of 1 metric ton of PLA are 42 gigajoules and 1.3 tons of CO2 respectively, approximately 40% lower than those for petrochemical PET (69.4 gigajoules and 2.15 tons of CO2). So, the production of PLA yarn saves energy and contributes less to greehouse effect. What is more, it is kind of 100% biodegradation texitle material, which can biodegrade in the soil or sea after disposal within 6-12 months. Therefore, the PLA yarn is enviromental-friendly and recycled material.

All these good properties make PLA position strongly in the textile field. It can be used in areas: apparel, home textiles or technical applications, such as the pregnant wearings, underwear, kids wearing, disposal gloves, disposal socks, pillow cases, bed sheets, mattress covering.
